Actalent Quality Technician in Wilton, Connecticut

Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled Quality Technician to join our quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of measuring equipment and techniques, with a keen eye for detail and a profound ability to interpret component blueprints. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) concepts is essential for ensuring the dimensional accuracy and tolerances of our high-quality products.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret and analyze component blueprints to understand measurement requirements.

• Apply principles of GD&T to assess the geometric characteristics of components and assemblies.

• Operate and maintain a variety of precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines).

• Conduct routine and complex measurements to verify product dimensions and geometrical tolerances.

• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve product quality.

• Document measurement results and provide detailed reports on findings.

• Participate in the development and implementation of metrology procedures and standards.

• Assist in the calibration and verification of measurement equipment.

Qualifications:

• Technical Degree or an A.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in metrology, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting component blueprints.

• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and application.

• Experience with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software is desirable.

• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
