About the role:

The Leveraged and Acquisition Finance team at MUFG is looking for a Director to play lead role in the origination and execution of Leveraged and Acquisition Finance transactions. Providing coverage (primary and secondary) support for MUFG’s sponsor and corporate acquirers, and to assist in driving the acquisition finance business and incremental P&L in line with the Bank’s growth ambitions.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assist in driving a robust product strategic plan that will drive financial outcomes and business growth

  • Enhancing current customer sets to deliver required revenue and return targets

  • Build new customer sets, sponsor, and support the corporate coverage book to drive the LAF business

  • Partner with Coverage and product specialists in building financial solutions that best meet the client needs with an enhanced focus on capital markets

  • Provide clear leadership and mentorship to the junior resources in managing the portfolio and new transactions

  • Providing leadership, clarity, and collaboration with credit division and senior stakeholders

What we are looking for:

  • 10+ years’ experience as a member of marketing and deal teams at a leading Leveraged and Acquisition Finance, M&A Advisory or Structured Finance house who has successfully led the identification, structuring and execution of financing transactions

  • Tertiary Qualifications in related field including Finance, banking, business related degree from a leading university

  • Strong up-to-date knowledge of the corporate and leveraged loan and debt capital markets, of M&A markets and of general M&A dynamics

  • Strong credit knowledge / understanding of cash flow based lending with strong financial analysis / modelling skills

  • Have either a leveraged and acquisition financing or capital structuring background as content is the key to strategic engagement

  • Strong Financial Sponsor, including Private Equity relationships

  • Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments

  • Previous experience in a leadership role providing guidance and mentorship to a developing team
