Job Overview:

We are currently hiring for someone to join our team in St. Louis, MO as a Community Support Specialist. In this role you will play a pivotal role in providing person-centered, strength-based care emphasizing skill acquisition and harm reduction. By employing stage-wise and motivational approaches, you will engage clients in decision-making and self-advocacy throughout the recovery and resiliency process. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Life-Changing Mental Health Services: Provide top-notch care to clients out in the community.

  • Empower Clients through Behavioral Interventions: Utilize effective techniques like motivational interviewing, operant conditioning, and cognitive processing to help clients achieve their treatment goals and improve their overall well-being.

  • Foster Recovery and Resilience: Take a supportive educational approach to promote improved functioning and meet the unique needs of each client. Engage in activities that align with treatment goals and foster long-term success.

  • Manage a Rewarding Caseload: Establish and maintain a manageable caseload, collaborating with supervisory staff to ensure a fulfilling workload that allows you to make a meaningful impact in clients' lives.

  • Collaborate in Client Care: Participate in staffing sessions to identify client needs, set treatment goals, and develop individualized plans for success. Contribute your expertise to ensure the best possible outcomes.

  • Respond to Emergencies with Confidence: Use sound judgment and discretion to provide timely assistance during mental health crises, offering rapid aid within your scope of training.

  • Ensure Continuity of Care: Provide comprehensive follow-up services to clients, including follow-up for missed appointments, outreach, and engagement as needed. Meticulously document all interactions, including attempted or unsuccessful attempts.

    Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, social work, education, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, family therapy, or another related human service field

  • One year of experience in social services

  • Mental health professional status as outlined in IL Administrative Code Part 132 Section 132.25

    Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methodologies for mental health and substance use disorders

  • Understanding of issues faced by individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders and accessible community resources

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills for crafting detailed reports

  • Self-motivation to consistently deliver superior performance and cater to clients' complex needs

  • Multitasking capabilities to streamline service coordination and maintain robust communication channels
