Definition

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Early Childhood Education Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing educational programs and activities for young children in a preschool or early childhood education setting. This role requires a deep understanding of child development principles, curriculum design, and instructional strategies specifically tailored for early childhood learners. The Early Childhood Education Specialist will work closely with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure the provision of high-quality early education experiences that promote the holistic growth and development of young children.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum and instructional materials for young children, ensuring alignment with relevant educational standards and best practices in early childhood education. Plan and facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences that promote the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children. Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to integrate educational activities into daily routines and classroom practices. Conduct ongoing assessments to track children's progress and identify areas for improvement or additional support. Provide guidance and support to teachers in implementing effective teaching strategies and techniques for young children.

Assist in the selection and evaluation of educational resources, materials, and equipment to support the learning needs of children. Collaborate with parents and guardians to foster a strong home-school partnership, providing regular communication and resources to support their involvement in their child's education. Stay informed about current research, trends, and developments in early childhood education and apply this knowledge to enhance program quality and effectiveness. Participate in professional development opportunities, workshops, and conferences to expand knowledge and skills in early childhood education. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to children's progress, assessments, and program activities. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements governing early childhood education. Oversee the Site Supervisors in both San Diego and Riverside County preschool sites. Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, and retention of Preschool Staff.

Minimum Qualifications Masters degree in early childhood education or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education, preferably in a leadership or specialist role. In-depth knowledge of child development principles, early learning theories, and instructional strategies for young children. Familiarity with relevant educational standards and best practices in early childhood education. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
