The University of Utah is searching for an exceptional candidate to fill the role of Director of Sleep Medicine for the Sleep Wake Center. The selected candidate will lead and enhance our Sleep Medicine program, contributing to its clinical, educational and research excellence. The Director will be responsible for shaping the future of this vital center in an environment that fosters collaboration and innovation. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Expand: Lead and oversee the clinic, sleep lab, educational programs and research activities of the Sleep Wake Center.

  • Multi-Disciplinary Development: Build and maintain a robust academic sleep medicine program, working collaboratively with clinical and academic partners within the division, along with across departments and disciplines.

  • Teaching and Mentoring: provide teaching opportunities and mentorship for medical students, residents and fellows, fostering an environment conducive to learning and growth.

  • Research Initiatives: Engage in innovative research in collaboration with faculty and established programs across the university.

  • Academic Engagement: Participate in all academic activities of the Pulmonary Division and the Sleep Center to advance clinical, research and educational initiatives.

  • Sleep Fellowship: Maintain and oversee a fellowship program, provide teaching opportunities with multiple faculty members, encourage and develop environments conducive to learning and growth.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • MD or DO with board certification in Sleep Medicine.

  • Extensive experience in sleep medicine, with a parent specialty in Pulmonary Medicine, Neurology or Psychiatry.

  • Strong commitment to research and education with outstanding leadership ability.

  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care, research and education.

  • Eligible for medical licensure in Utah.

Successful candidates will be appointed at a faculty rank and salary appropriate for their qualifications.
