HOUSE OF HOPE Director of Finance in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Position Summary: House of Hope (HOH) is in search of a talented, experienced, and creative individual to manage all financial/fiscal functions of our non-profit organization. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Board of Directors Finance Committee, this full-time (M-F, 8:30a-5:00p) Director of Finance organizes, coordinates, and evaluates the functions of the HOH Accounting Department, including the management of approximately 4 to 5 staff. Key functions will include ensuring organizational sustainability by establishing proper accounting practices for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with an annual budget of approximately $7.5 million. With oversight of the organization's finances, the Director of Finance will keep the leadership team and Board of Directors regularly informed of the organization's financial status. This is a key position of the House of Hope leadership/management team.

Primary Responsibilities: Oversee all financial functions, including fixed asset management, accounting, budgeting, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Provide effective, practical financial controls through developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and systems.

Partner with the HOH Development office in the submission of all grant proposals by providing financial/budgetary information for grants as well as the tracking of restricted funding.

Prepare and track the organization's budget, YTD reports and balance sheet.

Assume responsibility for the organization's annual financials, financial reporting for licensing, and other special projects.

Serve on the senior leadership team and supervise accounting/finance team.

Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements to the Board of Directors at monthly board meetings.

Complete financial reconciliation and utilize QuickBooks program to track all income and expenditures.

Take responsibility for the timely receipt of all accounts receivable (AR) and payment of all accounts payable (AP).

Provide oversight and management of fiscal relationships, contracts for treatment services, and other financial partners.

Oversee the purchase and inventory of HOH's equipment, furniture, and fixtures (ensuring proper asset accounting).

Manage cash flow projections by forecasting and anticipating cash needs.

Assist in developing HOH procedures, policies, rules, and regulations pertaining to accounting and other financial protocols.

Review fiscal internal control policies and procedures per general accepted accounting principles, and test to verify their practice.

Understand and sustain Medicaid, private insurance, and other contractual billing practices to ensure that best practices in healthcare financing is followed at all levels of agency operations. Desired Qualifications: Must have either a Master's Degree in Accounting or a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) or other graduate degree in a similar field; a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.

Minimum of five years of experience managing the accounting functions of a $5 million (or larger) organization (non-profit experience preferred).

Experience working with accounting systems and electronic billing for Medicaid and insurance processing systems (must be proficient in QuickBooks, Word, and Excel).

Experience navigating financial reporting, budgeting, systems integration, and strategic financial planning and analysis.

Proven management experience, with a strong desire to develop staff, focusing on individual career needs and goals.

Must have a strong attention to detail and desire to lead with accuracy and integrity.

Must be able to demonstrate an ability to work under stre ssful timelines; show an affinity for multi-tasking.

Demonstrate experience in developing budgets, financial analysis, managing audits, and preparing financial statements.

Ability to plan, organize, and think strategically; be a cr ative problem-solver, and be flexible and willing to learn new practices in behavioral healthcare.

Have strong interpersonal skills, be able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Be people-oriented with a desire to make a difference in our community through advancement of the HOH mission (a sense of humor a big plus!).

AGENCY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL EMPLOYEES:

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Graduate degree in field of accounting, business administration, or similar field REQUIRED.
