Compensation Data

Description

The Associate Director, Contract Channel Implementation will be responsible for leading the development of trade and supply distribution strategy, for both wholesale, specialty distribution and hybrid designs. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of product level, channel distribution networks that meet the needs of patients and caregivers to ensure safe, reliable, and timely delivery of therapies to patients through distribution partners and networks. This position will develop deal terms with wholesalers, specialty distributors, and specialty pharmacies. This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads the development and implementation of channel strategies for BI product distribution to meet the needs of patients, caregivers, and distribution partners.

  • Ensures alignment with product value proposition and addresses evolving channel marketplace to maximize access and profitability.

  • Collaborates with other functional teams to develop and execute distribution analytics through modeling of the financial impact of distribution service agreement terms and ensures alignment with governance bodies (E.g., Finance, Legal, Pricing, Terms and Conditions Committee).

  • Evaluates potential partners in collaboration with specific product and brand needs (open/closed networks) and in conjunction with Global Sourcing, executes Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) activities to evaluate and select distribution partners.

  • Develops service level agreements for distribution partners that align with product and patient needs, including data agreements, patient services.

  • Leads the full evaluation and development of fair market value (FMV) assessment(s) with global sourcing and or strategic partners to support the appropriate purchase and competitive allocation of fees for services.

  • In collaboration with the AD, Specialty Operations, establishes aspects of a customer data strategy to maximize visibility and access for Rx to fill process.

  • Collaborates with Analytics and Insights (A&I) to set up dashboards and track metrics for Rx to fill.

  • Abides by all applicable BI policies, procedures, and regulations that prevent potential price discrimination amongst distribution partners (e.g., Robinson-Patman Act) as well any anti-kickback, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption regulations.

  • Develops cross-functional synergies within Market Access and other commercial functions such as Finance, Legal, Pricing and Contracting, Marketing, Sales to maximize product success, compliance, and profitability.

  • Continuously stays abreast of brand strategies and provides solutions to optimize access, reimbursement, and distribution.

  • Acts as the connection point between brand teams, Trade National Account Directors (NADs) and the Access and Reimbursement (A&R) team.

  • Leads distribution services negotiations with various types of distribution partners and will included the appropriate modeling to support the various business proposals offered.

  • Responsible for developing the distribution model that will support the growth of the BI product portfolio through effective contracting and ongoing management of gross product sales.

  • Additionally, this role will impact the patient experience for those individuals taking BI’s specialty medications and will help support patient adherence and persistency while on therapy.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited institution required; MBA from an accredited institution preferred.

  • Five plus (5+) years relevant market access and three plus (3+) contracting experience required.

  • Two plus (2+) years relevant program management or account management experience required.

  • More than three (3) years leadership and or project management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead projects internally and externally through to implementation required.

  • Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.

  • Three plus (3+) years’ experience with both retail and specialty pharmacy preferred.

  • Strong understanding of trade operations and trade, specialty distribution, specialty pharmacy industry related processes including critical aspects of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements required.

  • Ability to build relationships and expand company's presence with wholesalers, distributors, and Specialty Pharmacies.

  • Ability to monitor trading partners and market shifts to anticipate and adapt strategies to accommodate evolving market conditions.

  • Detailed understanding of wholesales, chains, specialty pharmacy and distribution trading partners.
