Summary of Duties:
The Early Childhood Specialist 3 is the lead classroom teacher and directs all daily operations in a developmentally appropriate classroom (infant, toddler, preschool, or school age). Responsibilities include: planning, implementing, and evaluating curriculum activities for children; planning and directing routine classroom activities such as meals, bathroom/diapers, naps, and physical care; modeling appropriate nurturing and communication skills with children; directing and maintaining a safe, healthy environment; completing child assessments and conducting parent conferences; leading Early Childhood Specialist 2, student staff, and volunteers in classroom; upholding licensing and accreditation standards; evaluating student staff; and completing required paperwork.
Required Qualifications:
• Forty-five college quarter hours in early childhood development/education/special education or equivalent OR a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and two years experience working in a group setting with children of the ages enrolled in the program; OR equivalent education/experience.
• AA/AAS Degree in Early Childhood development or equivalent education/experience. Background clearance required upon hire.
• Pediatric First Aid , Infant-Child CPR, Bloodborne Pathogen Training, negative TB skin test results.
• Washington State Food Handlers' License required upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills with parents, children, colleagues.
• Demonstrated flexibility in dealing with frequent changes and/or crises.
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices with young children.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum development and assessments for children birth twelve years.
• Demonstrated successful team work with others.

Monthly Salary:
Range 42, $3,537.00 - $4,723.00 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with https://apps.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=357.
