Idaho Employer Aluminum Jet Boat Welder/Fabricator in Orofino, Idaho

Aluminum Jet Boat Welder/Fitter needed for aluminum boat manufacturer. This position will entail aluminum boat welding and fabrication. Employer prefers experience however is willing to weld test to ensure ability level and quality of work. Employer expresses an immediate need to fill this position. This is a full time position. Wage is negotiable depending on experience.

Must be able and willing to climb in and out of boat hulls, over and under them as well. Must be able and willing to weld in various physical positions, many of which will be in the kneeling positions or uncomfortable positions. Must be able and willing to lift at least 50 pounds.

Must exhibit experience and familiarity welding. MIG welding aluminum is the main type of welding that will be performed. Must understand the basics of welding including basic metallurgy, heat management, and the workings of a MIG welder. Must exhibit a minimum level of artistic ability when welding.

Must be able to fabricate various aluminum items, parts, and pieces. Must be able to read a tape measure properly (in 1/16 increments mainly). Must understand how to take raw materials and produce usable parts that conform to standards.

Must be able and willing to produce parts and products through to completion, including fit and finish, brushing/cleaning welds and parts, sanding, grinding and prepping aluminum surfaces and welds for finish work.

Must be able and willing to work safely, paying attention to working neatly, limiting tripping hazards and messy workplaces, effectively use safety equipment, and above all paying attention to those around them and activities around them.

SJX Boats is a production driven manufacturing environment with high standards for quality. The work schedule is 4 ten hour days per week with some overtime based on the current production quotas.
