CHOICE Compliance and Contracts Officer in Olympia, Washington

Title: Compliance and Contracts Officer

Reports to: Operations Manager

FLSA status: Exempt

FTE status: 1.0 FTE

Hours: 8 a.m. -- 5 p.m., Monday through Friday

Location: Olympia, WA with opportunity for a hybrid schedule

Salary: $70,000 -- 80,000

The opportunity

Join our dynamic and highly collaborative team as the Governance and Compliance Officer, where you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing health access, awareness, and quality of care within our region. Your work will be essential in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for our contracts. By monitoring and interpreting applicable laws, maintaining accurate records, and implementing robust internal controls, you will effectively mitigate risks and reinforce our commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical practices. Your work to support the organization's Chief Executive Office and Board will be key to achieving our governance excellence.

Major duties

Grant and compliance

Support contract managers and leadership in meeting documentation and reporting requirements and deadlines.

Support leadership in policy, procedure, and system development in accordance with government regulations and organizational needs to ensure quality grant and contract management.

Maintain registration in the System of Award Management (SAM.gov) to manage federal grant funds.

Retrieve necessary entity information, such as audit findings and suspension and debarment notices, required by federal grants.

Oversee development and maintenance of subrecipient/subcontract monitoring policies, procedures, tools, and templates (including but not limited to initial risk assessments, site visits, reviews, audits, and evaluations) to ensure compliance with federal and other applicable regulations, and consistent with sound business practices.

Oversee development and implementation of internal quality assurance practices and systems.

Conduct continues quality improvement projects, monitor progress with meeting Key Performance Indicators and support teams as needed for tracking, monitoring, or reporting efforts for internal use.

Provide staff training to support contract planning, development, implementation, and monitoring processes.

Provide guidance in interpreting regulations and executing subrecipient/subcontractors' award terms and conditions.

Serve as the administrator for contract life management software, providing onboarding and support to contract managers.
