What we do:

The Legal Function provides effective, efficient and client-focused legal services to the Bank across all business areas and activities. The Enterprise Legal Services division provides a range of expertise in support of the Bank's mission and operations and is comprised of four teams: Enforcement & Litigation, Employment & Corporate Matters, Technology & Contracts, and Financial Intelligence & Investigations.

The Enforcement & Litigation team represents the Bank in all aspects of litigation, enforcement actions involving supervised institutions, and other matters, providing strong written and oral advocacy to advance the strategic objectives of the Bank.

Your role as Counsel on the Enforcement & Litigation Team :

  • Work on a range of litigation, enforcement and related matters;

  • Collaborate with team members and managers and provide legal guidance to business areas on all stages of litigation, enforcement and related matters;

  • Handle fact and expert discovery and respond to third party discovery requests and subpoenas.

  • Conduct internal investigations and witness interviews.

  • Perform legal research and analysis.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs and enforcement actions.

  • Represent Bank at hearings, oral arguments, mediations and negotiations.

  • Respond to information requests from law enforcement and oversight entities.

What we are looking for:

  • Juris doctor with demonstrated expertise in all stages of federal litigation as well as experience handling regulatory investigations;

  • Admission to the New York State bar;

  • Admission to United States District Courts for Southern and Eastern Districts of New York;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Strong legal research and writing skills;

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and critical thinking;

  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to handle a broad range of matters;

  • Sustained ability to collaborate with team members, client representatives and other stakeholders;

  • Commitment to public service;

  • Emphasis on continuous professional growth and team efficiency and effectiveness; and

  • Strong focus on client service.

Salary Range: $ 200000 – $235000 / year
