Position Summary:

The CDL Driver will play a crucial role in our milling operations, ensuring the safe and timely transport and operation of heavy equipment and vehicles to, from, and on-the-job sites. The ideal candidate must have a valid CDL, with required endorsements, a strong understanding of safety regulations, and experience operating various CDL vehicles. Minorities/Females/Individuals with Disabilities/Veterans/Economically Disadvantaged Individuals are strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to operate company vehicles, which include service trucks, water trucks, dump trucks, vacuum/sweeper trucks, and other specialized milling division vehicles.
  • Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Operate company vehicles efficiently and in compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Keep job sites clean of all unused/waste materials and ensure all vehicles, equipment, and machinery are stored in a safe and secure manner.
  • Must be able to comply with and follow all company and DOT requirements and regulations.
  • Ensure the practice of safety standards in accordance with company policies, DOT, and OSHA.
  • Ensure all required permits and licenses are up to date.
  • Perform all other tasks and follow instructions as directed by direct supervisors.

  • May occasionally be required to use a computer with keyboard, telephone, or handheld mobile device for extended periods of time, and other equipment/machinery/vehicles as needed.
  • Will frequently be exposed to risk of accident and/or unpleasant elements (e.g., extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, heights, uneven work surfaces, and hazardous substances).
  • Will occasionally be required to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy items and materials.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in, and understand, English.
  • Required to utilize personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses & boots) at appropriate times.

Workdays & Shifts:

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent - Preferred.
  • Valid CDL, Class A or B - Required.
  • Tanker Endorsement - Required.
  • Up-to-date DOT Medical Card - Required.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Prior experience as a CDL Driver - Required.
  • Mechanical aptitude - Required.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screens & background checks, including MVR.
  • Must be in a union or be willing to join a union.
