NBC Universal Technical Production Specialist (PEP) in Miami, Florida

The Technical Production Specialist is responsible for driving on-air reliability for Telemundo Enterprises’ productions, channels, and streams. The Technical Production Specialist collaborates with a driven and highly motivated team to support the on-air operations of Telemundo Enterprises and provide a first-in-class service to all clients for on-air broadcasts.

The PEP ROLE is a project/limited term position, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. 

Job Duties:

  • Manages and drives reliability within a fast-paced, on-air operations environment that includes supporting the coordination, operation, and execution of live programming for Telemundo Enterprises.

  • Facilitates day-of-air changes to multiple crew members, especially the show director.

  • Ensures client expectations are met or exceeded relating to on-air reliability for all Telemundo clients.

  • Develops a deep knowledge of the operation’s technical architecture and on-air system.

  • Reports and resolves issues quickly and effectively to prevent on-air discrepancies.

  • Manages the end-to-end execution of all live events including preparation, in-event execution, and off-air adjustments.

  • Assumes transmission responsibilities as needed, including monitoring of uplinks, live shots, overseeing quality control of remotes.

  • Works under the direct supervision of Director, Control Room Operations and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by Manager or Supervisor as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an on-air broadcast environment, encompassing an overall understanding and knowledge of the television production process, broadcast operations, and news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements

  • Prior experience leading the execution of live television events

  • Prior experience with Avid iNEWS or other NRCS application (ENPS, Dalet, etc.)

  • Proficient in Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Yammer, Stream, and Teams) and other related tools.

  • Fluent English and Spanish (both written & verbal)

  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • As this is a critical operations position, candidate must be willing to work flexible hours including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment

  • Must be available to work (whenever necessary for show production) early mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

  • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
