Job Summary:The Patient Account Representative in Oncology uses their skill set to accurately perform diversified duties with primary emphasis in hematology/oncology authorizations. The patient account representative assists patients by obtaining necessary authorizations for treatments or procedures when required. Must provide high skills in areas required for office organization and telephone communication. Requires a good sense of judgement and analytical skills to perform a variety of tasks associated with general account review. Work assignments will be determined by adjustment of daily scheduled appointments and priority needs of the patient, medical director, or director. The account representative will be assigned to work up to 40 hrs. per week with no weekend work required. The Patient Account Representative is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations of the department and organization. Must be able to work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
