Amazon Senior Trade Compliance Program Manager in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

We are looking for an organized self-starter to join the Global Trade Services (GTS) team at Amazon. This position will be based out of an Amazon corporate office in Luxembourg, and requires the ability to travel periodically.

GTS’ operations span across all over Europe, with compliance at the forefront. GTS Risk & Monitoring is looking for a high-judgment individual to join us in a new team as a Trade Compliance Program Manager to build and maintain compliance monitoring frameworks.

We are looking for an individual with strong Trade knowledge and experience, who can apply their expertise to: 1) develop audit and monitoring frameworks across different business lanes, 2) coordinate with off-shore resources to ensure timely and highest-quality audit execution, 3) identify risk mitigation strategies, 4) deliver audit and monitoring reports to key stakeholders and partners, such as Trade Legal, Trade Ops, Supply Chain, Finance, and Trade Regulatory Engagement, and 5) influence the global Trade risk and monitoring strategy. The successful candidate will have exceptional organization skills, including cross-functionally, as well as strong data-driven mindset and capabilities, but also excellent soft skills that enable trustworthy relationships with stakeholders and partners. Key job responsibilities

• Build sustainable and scalable audit and monitoring frameworks

• Assess, optimize, standardize, and streamline audit and monitoring processes, with an emphasis on automation and/or worldwide parity wherever possible

• Deliver highest-quality risk and monitoring reports to key leaders, tracking key performance and risk indicators

• Liaise with partners and stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Finance, Tax, etc.) on strategical short/medium/long term process initiatives to help improve trade compliance

• Coordinate with off-shore audit execution teams

• Stay informed about Trade regulations and technologies, and adjust your risk and monitoring program accordingly

• Meet individual and team goals with the highest standards and diligence

• Lead and/or participate in special projects and/or assignments as necessary

A day in the life

In this role, no two days will be exactly the same, but regular activities will include:

• Defining new, or optimizing existing audit and monitoring frameworks and processes

• Identifying risk mitigation strategies post analysis of audit defects, and presenting results to cross-functional leaders

• Working with key partners and stakeholders on short to long-term risk solutions that improve trade compliance

• Collaborating with technical teams to improve scalability, efficiency, relevancy, and accuracy of monitoring programs

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Trade (import, export, customs, etc.)

  • Risk management experience, including handling of confidential data

  • Ability to work with across teams, including from other departments (e.g., Legal, Finance, etc.), with the highest levels of team spirit and integrity

  • Excellent knowledge of Office tools (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Audit and/or compliance management experience

  • Project and/or program management experience

  • Process optimization and streamlining experience (e.g., Six Sigma)

  • Fluent in at least one of the following languages: French, German, Italian, Polish, and Spanish
