Join our team as an OB Tech! As an OB Tech on our team, you will assist in smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum unit. May perform direct and indirect patient care including vitals, hygiene measures, and basic care for antepartum, postpartum and newborn patients.

OB Techs functions include:

  • Assists with vaginal deliveries under the direction of a Registered Nurse and provider and within scope of practice.

  • Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures.

  • Maintains supplies and equipment on the unit.

  • Assists with maintenance of Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment.

  • Performs clerical and business support tasks as assigned.

  • Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.

Day to Day:

  • Primary Duties-Scrubbing on C-Sections (emergent/ Scheduled), D&C’s, Assisting w/Vaginal Deliveries.

  • Providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations. Marinating Sterile field during procedures.

  • A large portion of time will be functioning in a unit clerk role. Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases. Answering Phones, Patient Check in, chart entry in EPIC.

* Previous experience scrubbing on C-sections or other OB procedures

19LDRP Beds, 6 level II Special Care Nursery Beds

2OR suites, 3 bed Triage

40-50+ Deliveries per Month

Schedule: PRN- Variable per Volume and current unit needs

PRN Policy requires candidates be available for a min of 5 shifts in a six week schedule block

15% PRN differential added to base pay!

No Call required- Ability to pick up extra shifts may be available

Qualifications:

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • One-year patient care experience preferred, i.e. OB Tech, LPN/LVN, EMT, CNA,

  • Medical Assistant or Surgical Tech experience

  • Previous Scrub experience in OB and/or Main OR Setting required

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Basic computer skills

  • High School graduate or GED

  • Completion of a Surgical Tech program, preferred

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association

  • Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technician upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only)

Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The OB Post-Partum department at Longmont United Hospital has 19 LDRP beds, six Level II Special Care Nursery beds, two ORs and a three-bed triage. Our scope is Labor and Delivery, postpartum couplet care (mom & well baby), antepartum care, C-sections, tubal ligations, Level II nursery and care for babies 34 weeks and up. Our department gets occasional overflow with gynecological surgery patients. We have a strong, supportive culture with all BirthPlace associates and providers and provides a very positive team environment. The right candidate must have a positive attitude and want to work in a strongly supportive team environment. They need to be able to learn quickly and be someone who can multitask and handle ongoing change without getting flustered. This person will need to be flexible and able to work at a fast pace.

The right candidate for us will be Motived, team player, love the OR and helping with set up and clean up for vaginal deliveries, enjoy being part of a team and willing to jump in and help out when needed. Experience as a labor and delivery tech is a plus. Attention to detail and being a person who is self-motivated and needs little direction is a must for this position. $23.23 - $39.45 / hour
