Our client is currently seeking a Greenhouse Technician to join their Controlled Environments Team. You will be part of the Research and Development Department supporting various research initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a desire to work with plants, be ok working around pollen and be a team player.

Job Title: Greenhouse Technician

Location: Johnston, Iowa

Pay Range: $22.00/hour

What’s the Job?

• Daily greenhouse plant care, including seeding, pollinating, transplanting, watering, harvesting, and seed handling for various crops such as corn, soybean, wheat, canola, and others.

• Punch or cut and store small samples of plant tissue for laboratory analysis, maintaining proper storage conditions and sample identity.

• Assist with experiments, data collection, and record-keeping to support ongoing research projects.

• Perform routine greenhouse sanitation tasks, including discarding regulated material and waste removal.

• Maintain a professional, clean, and safe work environment while meeting all compliance standards.

What’s Needed?

• High school diploma/GED required. Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant physiology, molecular biology, entomology, or plant pathology preferred.

• 3+ years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.

• Ability to pay close attention to detail and follow standard operating and safety protocols.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a high degree of self-motivation and a positive attitude.

• Basic computer skills preferred, including MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), and ability to gain competency with internally-developed research software.
