Electrical and Instrumentation Assistant Maintenance Superintendent

Career Opportunity:

Responsible for managing a department of maintenance staff of the assigned facility, which includes safety, environmental, quality & customer satisfaction, cost, production, financial budgets & results, capital project support, people development, and employee & labor relation. Coordination and collaboration between peers to ensure effective and efficient execution of maintenance activities within the facility. To include: responsibility for providing the necessary resources and information to the Maintenance Supervisors that will allow them to effectively accomplish work in the safest, most efficient manner, responsibility for establishing and communicating area goals that support mill goals, responsibility for initiatives that support the mill’s continuous improvement initiatives and the responsibility to lead and coach all members of the Team to attain maximum benefits for the mill.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Be familiar with and have a good understanding of NFPA-70E, NEC, and electrical safety standards.

  • Have a good understanding of electrical power systems including high, medium, and low voltage power systems.

  • Involvement in positive change and continuous improvement using tools such as Kepner-Tregoe, 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing Principles, and others.

  • Understanding of process control systems such as DCS, PLC, gauging, PI, and various other types of systems.

  • Have work experience as a mechanic, planner, supervisor, specialist, project engineer, reliability engineer, or process control engineer.

  • Experience increasing capabilities of mechanics and supervisors by various types of training and to motivate them to exceed their expectations.

  • Involved in rebuilding an electrical system after a serious mishap, such as an explosion, fire, chemical contamination and other mishaps.

  • Union labor relations and competent collaboration skills.

  • Daily fiscal responsibility for a maintenance budget.

  • Participation and proficiency supporting a capitol project team.

  • Planning, execution, and coordination of routine maintenance outages and major mill wide annual outages.

  • Contractor management experience.

  • Knowledge of Condition Based Maintenance Technologies including: oil analysis, vibration, motor circuit analysis, thermograph, non destructive, and ultrasonic testing.

  • Partnering with Process Control organization in the Mill.
