JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Family & Community Medicine, in Hershey, PA, is seeking highly motivated candidates for a Clinical Research Coordinator to implement and manage a clinical research study that aims to examine a blood-based cancer screening test on patient acceptance and compliance with colorectal cancer screening. The Clinical Research Coordinator will manage study activities, including study recruitment, scheduling, patient consent, data collection/entry, reporting, and participant survey follow-up. In addition to compliance with study guidelines as established through the study protocol and institutional review board (IRB), they will ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, and mandates. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work closely with department staff and the research study team at the Center for Advancing Health Equity in Rural and Underserved Communities, at the Penn State College of Medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and manages all components of the study protocol, including pre and post research activities.

  • Manages the day-to-day activities and overall workflow of the project.

  • Responsible for having a working knowledge and awareness of all project components.

  • Coordinates all aspects of the project, including recruitment, enrolling participants, scheduling, consenting participants, and administering follow-up satisfaction survey.

  • Data collection, recording, and management of data files.

  • Maintains security for all project documents and data.

  • Assists in preparation of research findings for presentation at research team meetings, partner meetings, and scientific conferences.

  • Prepares for quality assurance audits conducted by study funder and specially designated review groups.

  • Participates in study-related documentation, such as protocol worksheets, adverse event reports, institutional review board documentation, and progress reports.

  • Performs other project-related work as needed.

Candidates should be able to work independently and have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and the ability to contribute to the research missions.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
