Chenega Enterprise Systems & Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services ’ company, is looking for a Health Educator Scientist III to create messages and materials, including to train, and to improve the collaborations across microbiology laboratories (clinical, local/state/regional public health, CDC), to promote knowledge and expertise for accurate and standardized identification of bacterial and fungal pathogens with appropriate antimicrobial susceptibility testing (phenotypic and genotypic), and support rapid data sharing for needed response. This resource will work within the ARX Science team within CDC Division Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP).

Responsibilities

  • Review messages and materials regularly and work closely with ARX Science Team and ARX Communications Team to update or improve information as needed to reflect current work, educational, training, and guidance documents.

  • Coordinate between the ARX Science and Communications Teams to update web and Internet-based content about antimicrobial resistance and develop all needed content based on best practices in risk communications, usability and plain language, at the appropriate technical level for the intended audience (laboratorians, healthcare providers, public health professionals, or general public).

  • Cross-communication with CDC AR SMEs in other Branches, Divisions, and Centers to ensure collaboration and consistency of training and messages regarding the AR work being conducted through the ARX Science Team and all of its partners.

  • Attend all relevant antimicrobial resistance-related coordination meetings.

  • Serve as Health Educator for ARX Science Team and communications liaison from ARX Science Team to ARX Communications Team to ensure that needs, intentions, and work in progress is reviewed and discussed in an organized and coordinated manner.

  • Assist with the review of clearances of all materials related to CDC antimicrobial resistance issues.

  • Identify for ARX Science Team Lead gaps, tasks, or communications and training needs and hold responsibility for relaying the agreed upon information to the ARX Communications Team; proactively plan in advance and in consideration of government AR announcements and emergency responses and other relevant deadlines.

  • Under the guidance of the ARX Science Team Lead collaborate with AR partners to conduct informational/educational webinars, trainings, and outreach efforts associated with relevant AR work.

  • Create content or provide review and input for various social media platforms as appropriate and relevant.

  • Proactively identify, research, and resolve problems or issues; participate in team strategy sessions to discuss solutions. Proactively recommend updated strategies to improve information and guidance being shared with partners and other intended audiences.

  • Attend AR-related coordination meetings and team building activities as appropriate.

  • Provide logistical support at approved conferences and meetings in relation to the communication of antimicrobial resistance activities.

  • Attend CDC approved trainings required to learn new CDC government systems to complete required tasks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience, of which must be specialized in the areas of public health education, communications, or health education.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong project management, project coordination and prioritization skills

  • Ability to recognize client needs, Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills, Capable of taking direction and being adaptable to change

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional customer service orientation
