Role Overview
The Finance Officer-Intern (Payables) shall be responsible for managing all the accounts payables function of Farmerline.
Responsibilities
Accounts payables duties
Ensure weekly review of all farmer services requests and obtain the necessary approvals before payment.
Ensure that all payments fall within the approved budget for 2024.
Ensure that all payments have appropriate supporting documentation.
Ensure that all project expenses do not exceed implementation budgets.
Perform all supplier due diligence to ensure they comply with all company policies.
Ensure that all the accounts payables functions have been fully digitized in Mergdata Software.
Liaise with the financial controller to ensure that bank advice is received a few hours after payment and shared with the appropriate person.
Review of all payment requests to avoid conflict of interest.
Cash payment duties
Daily reconciliation of payments (paytime & farmer resource) to Farmer services budgets.
Weekly reconciliation of bank accounts including paytime payments.
Ensure that any fraud issues determined are reported to the financial controller immediately.
Financial reporting duties
Ensure all information needed for month-end reporting is provided on a timely basis.
Serve as the main point of contact for external audits on accounts payables and cash payments.
Ensure that cycle time for accounts payables is always met.
Any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
BSc Degree in Finance and Accounting
Prior experience will be an advantage
